its irrelevant for syncing.
MIDI clock defines itself via 24 messages per quarter note. this isn't
enough to provide true sync, because it does not convey the time
signature (meter) of the timeline. thus, to get real sync, both sides
(master & slave) must either be manually set to the same meter, or
they must use some other mechanism to share the meter.
if you make the default assumption, as so much stuff does these days,
that music normally comes in 4/4, then sync will generally work out of
the box. but on a piece in 5/8 or 9/4, let alone with a meter shift
somewhere in the middle, and more work is required.
