I think I agree with this.
rhythmn is always based on one integral periodic
'pulse'. if
time is not divisible by this atom, there is no musical time.
I think there are some counter examples, eg. Reich's phase music? How
about african polyrhythms? I'm not sure but I dont think the time unit is
integral in those cases.

Seriously, there are good technical reasons for representing everything
you can with floats.
