Maybe make it partially closed, so you can't get any "hazardous" info
without registering? (Obvious if the members and the ones interested
in the information are the same, but it gets trickier otherwise...)
Well for contacting an individual you could always just have the
database forward a message from a form to its internally stored email
addresses so it never actually reveals it (maybe an option to those
registering, otherwise it could be displayed in some spam harvester
un-friendly manner). And for location info, just a city/country would be
sufficient for travelers to know if the person is in an accessible
location and doesn't really give away too much info :)
Anyone remember the project mentioned on LAD before about an online
