FireWire will be able to use CAT5 also IIRC.
1394b 100Mb is specified across CAT5. TTBOMK no one has released any
devices.
There is also an emerging 1394 Wireless spec in Europe being targeted at
home A/V networks. (Set top box in one room, HDTV in another.)
