That you need is RTP:

But, be aware that this problem is /very hard/. You
have to provide some
kind of dynamic buffering and resmapling between the
two ends of the
connection.
It would be nice if network audio was just handled as
another sound card by ALSA (feel free to shoot my if
there already is an effort underway; I haven't been
keeping up with the happenings at asound).
