Heh... I suggested this on LKML before even the open graphics project
started and no one bit. This is good news! I strongly suggest they
implement a device with a programmable firmware...
Obviously the first step is to look at what RME, M-Audio, Echo, and
other companies are doing and ask themselves how they can improve on it.
the next step is to get a grip on reality. the capabilities they are
describing do not cost "tens of thousands of dollars". they cost on the
order of US$300-1500. i don't doubt that there are improvements that
could be made to existing h/w and f/w, but its not orders of magnitude
measured in either cost or functionality.
