Look what I've got...
I thought it important and complete enough to let you see
where it is going.
Check it out.
Set up a fresh mudita24-1.0.3 folder and apply these patches
so you can try them out.
Niels, you could apply these to the tree right away, but
there's a few more things that I need to do, so it's not
completely done yet, but as of now, it is exactly like
before, but will be better when done.

While I was modifying configure.in, I also got rid of the
command-line switch to allow Gtk1 building, which means file
'configure.in-gtk1' is no longer needed. So as to prevent needless
butchery of the former envy24control GIT directory, I left the file
alone....

PS: note that I symlinked the old 1.0.2 files to these new 1.0.3 files
to prevent people from picking up the version with the configuration
error pointed out by Geoff King.
