for the hdsp series, RME had *no* written documentation at all except
their existing driver source code. i have come across other h/w
devices where there is no documentation. RME is basically a 2 person
shop on the technical side of things - a h/w guy and a s/w guy who sit
in the same room and go back and forth on "how does this ...", "why
doesn't this ...", "this seems not to ..." etc.
So i
can't really understand people (oss users or even oss
developers) who try to defend the position of companies that
make their lives harder for no reason.
But it's OK for you to make those companies' lives harder?
