Computer Music Tutorial
by Curtis Roads (1995, 1254 pages)
A misnamed classic. It's no tutorial, but it is crammed with
information. However, it's not really targeted to developers.
although true, i have to stress that Roads' book was absolutely pivotal
in getting me started. it provides a background, a context, a way of
thinking about the goals. its certainly not useful directly for
developers, but everyone writing audio software should know most (or at
least a good chunk) of what is in there.
