Yeah, that was my first thought. Make 0.0 <==> 440 Hz, period.
It has been suggested that it be a "system variable" or something,
but since we have linear pitch control anyway, you may as will
implement it as an optional TUNING control input on the plugins that
care. (Sequencers with direct PITCH output and scale converters would
care.)
No, not optional, mandatory. I think this would be a much easier way to
ensure that global tuning works than having the sequencers/midi
converters skew thier note->pitch outputs.
