Wow, now that's impressing. The feeling, I had while on the
conference, was that the linux-audio scene seems to be at a critical
point where a lot of things are happening and some are at the verge of
breakthrough. Ardour is an example which is getting closer and closer
to be a killer app. Also Jack is moving with giant steps and gets a
whole bunch of support that will eventually make all other
'soundservers' obsolete. I mean, *every* decent soundapp is supporting
Jack. And then we have ALSA who not only has a stable API for some
time now, but can now include comfort-features like dmix or dsnoop.
This is a major advantage over OSS for the casual user. There's so
much going on and so much right before a 1.0 release, it's really
exciting.
