A simple bargraph showing the gain change will provide the same
info. Also note that a compressor curve shows the _static_ response
only. If you'd plot a point corresponding to actual input and
output level for real musical signals it would most of the time

Yes, you're correct (as always). However that would be an
approximation (calculate the average input level x, plot a dot on (x,
f(x)) ), that would be ok for me.
