that there is one huge list and it should really be divided into
sections. Maybe have the equivilent of a .desktop file for each
plug-in?
Yes, but that feature was also in a LADSPA extension called LRDF, some
hosts make use of use it, eg. jack-rack. If you look in
/usr/share/ladspa/rdf/ and /usr/local/share/ladspa/rdf/ you should see the
category data.
