My suggestion is that we ressurect the XAP name

It stood for Xap Audio Plugin IIRC.
Pros: it's short*, relatively unused** and pronouncable***
More pros: we would have a VST -alike logo already! (looking at
http://xap-plugins.org/artwork.html).
