No details about the protocols used. Gigabit ethernet
is recommended for
"the best performance".
Mmm ... It says:
The protocol is independent of the network hardware, thanks
to the use of the standard TCP.
So, tcp/ip?
More likely is mLAN over TCP. It mentions it needs OS X 10.3, and Apple
has their mLAN stuff in that. Also, it says it could work over firewire.
Did not take them long to start using it!
You wouldn't actually need something like mLAN since it is only distributed
audio processing and you don't need wordclock sync or anything; just send
a bunch of samples to another computer and receive the processed samples
back sometime later. All information for processing should be available from
the packet sent for processing and the setup/configuration done before
processing is started.
