For example the channel strips could use a knob for volume instead of a
fader
which would save some space.
Just to go off on bit of a tangent here, I don't think using knobs for
channel strip volumes is a good idea at all. The relative volume level
is the most important piece of information there, knobs would ruin it.
They're faders on real boards for a reason....
