Yes - and the ones you have should be very strictly defined. The hard
part is to reduce the count without fogetting something...
Well LADSPA's been complete in my experience:
instantiate -> activate -> <run> -> deactivate -> cleanup
I'm not sure if run counts as a state, but, you get the idea.
