[PATCH] Add mpage_writepages() scheduling point
From: Jens Axboe <axboe(a)suse.de>
Takashi did some nice latency testing of the current kernel (with -mm
writeback changes), and the biggest offender in general core is
mpage_writepages().
So... humbly asking, is it time yet to make the switch? :-)
I'm running that patch for 2.6.5 for some time now, but somehow I
cannot do latency_test to get some figures. At least it's stable and
feels good. You should probably upgrade if you're running 2.6.x
anyways. For a switch 2.4 => 2.6 I cannot comment. I run 2.6 since
about two months now and I am very satisfied. I don't really do very
low latency stuff, but it worked very well and stable for my LAConf2
concert.
Ciao
