I don't think this is free software, btw.
They aren't too specific about the license but I think it's "public
domain".
I should ask Gary to be more clear about that on the site...
Anyways, it is included as a package in Debian (libstk0c2a), and they
are one of the best judges on software Freedom I know of.

But you're right in the sense that they aren't specific in their
license about derivative works, which is an important part of the GPL.
