pyliblo is a Python wrapper for the liblo OSC library. It supports almost
the complete functionality of liblo, allowing you to send and receive OSC
messages using a nice and simple Python API.
New features in version 0.6:
* added support for bundles and timestamps
* support additional OSC data types (midi, timetag, symbol,
true/false/nil/infinitum)
* alternative way for registering callback methods, using nifty Python
decorators

Greetings:
Some time ago I wrote a rather lengthy user-level introduction to JACK.
It was published in a German Linux magazine, and I'd now like to put the
original on the Web. However, it surely needs updated, so I've placed
its current condition on-line here :
http://linux-sound.org/knowing-jack.html
At this time I'm looking for corrections and additions to the main text.
I've purposefully left out the screenshots, I'll update them myself
after the text is up to date.
I'm not using FreeBob or JackMIDI and would apprciate any information
readers think should go into the article.
Please advise if any information regarding the QJackCtl audio options
needs changed. Users often wonder what all those checkboxes actually do,
and I'd like to give them the right info.
Btw, this artice is *not* planned for publication again, and I'll
happily place it under a CC license if desired by the community. If
acceptable I'd like it to go on the linuxaudio.org site.
Feel free to respond to the lists or directly to me.
Best,
dp
The [P]hase [H]armonic [A]dvanced [S]ynthesis [EX]periment, version
0.10.2 is ready for download (source tarball and FC6 RPMs) at:
http://sysex.net/phasex/
This release contains many fixes, most notably better support for
older GTK versions. PHASEX now works with GTK2 versions as low as
2.4.x, which should help most of the build issues on older distros.
Here's everything from the Changelog for this release:
* Fixed typos and omissions in parameter help file.
* Improved error handling and reporting in jack.c.
* Fixed JACK thread shutdown.
* Added Pete Shorthose's patch for saving memory with a single
knob anim.
* Added Lars Luthman's patch for improper style handling in
gtkknob.c.
* Fixed knob centering on middle click drag events.
* Cleaned up style and whitespace in gtkknob.c, added boilerplate.
* Added current midimap file to saved settings.
* Fixed build and runtime problems with GTK versions 2.4 to 2.8
* Fixed invalid setting of patch modified flag on startup.
* Updated error message for unhandled ALSA MIDI errors.
* Fixed passing of debug flags in configure.ac.
* Fixed detection of functions in libm.
* Added install of phasex.desktop to Makefile.am.
* Fixed uninitiailized varibable warnings in midi.c.
* Fixed missed internal update on boolean parameters first
switching to zero.
* Removed dead update_widget_val() in callback.c.
* Disabled engine side of audio ringbuffer locking (easier on JACK).
* Changed name of ALSA MIDI sequencer input port for readability.
* Added project roadmap.
Special thanks go to Pete Shorthose and Lars Luthman for your
patches to the gtkknob code, and to the rest of you for offering
incredible feedback, especially on the build issues and ALSA/JACK
startup issues.
Cheers!

LV2 Simple Sine Generator is very simple plugin, generating sine when
feed with notes. It should load in any host supporting midi port LV2
extension, i.e. elven, ingen, lv2_jack_host and zynjacku. Plugin should
be usable for testing basic synth functionality and as simple example
synth plugin to start with if you want to code your own LV2 synth
plugin.

what about http://sounds.resonance.org/ - can we mirror/extend it?
There are various sf2 and .gig resources all over the web, alas most of
'em with a dubious license.
given the recent number of "soundfont" posts to LAU, i concur that
linuxaudio.org should devote some resources on the subject.
I've started a page on our tentative wiki:
http://apps.linuxaudio.org/wiki/soundfonts to collect resources and
gather ideas; feel free to continue discussion on the mailing lists:
convergence of free & open sound-font collections is overdue and we can
use any hand available ;) - even so more when ardour MIDI track newbies
will start to ask for soundfonts in the near future.

Hi,
does anyone know how I can render images for circular controllers?
Or has anyone already rendered some?

p.s.: Where are the archives? I know this topic was one there...
