Hello everyone, I'm new to this list. My names Paul, I'm developing a plugin in Supercollider. It allows a user to define algorithmic processes using a GUI and trigger them via MIDI. I have the following question, how does one go about making this available cross platform as an AU instrument or VST instrument? alsa and buffer size

Hi all, I'm trying to use alsa with a buffer size other than a power of two for capture. If a define a buffer size of 8000 in my /etc/asound.conf file and if I use arecord it works, but if I try to access to the samples in my code with the snd_pcm_readi function and this size of buffer I have an EPIPE error. Does anyone know from where could comes the problem ? Thanks in advance Vincent

Btw I think I found one disadvantage in the workflow of non-sequencer. You can choose a scale to work in, but the disadvantage afaik is that you can't choose notes outsides that scale. Maybe I'm wrong, but if I'm right it seems to narrow the possibilities quite a bit. \r

linux and ambiophonics

Folks, Is there anyway to set up an ambiophonic (not to be confused with ambiosonic decryption) filtering on a Linux system? I'd prefer 4 channel if possible. I'm aware of brutefir, but i doubt i have the knowledge to set up so complicated a system equation by equation. Are there brutefir scripts out there for it? Anyone know of a ambiophonic ladspa plug in or something? Thanks, Bearcat M Sandor

Audio booth at OpenSourceExpo 2009 in Karlsruhe, Germany?

Hi, [this is mostly addressed to Linux Audio friends from Germany's Southwest] from November 15th-16th, 2009, the German Software&Support Media Group is hosting the "OpenSourceExpo" in Karlsruhe, Germany. I am not exactly sure yet about its target audience, but it appears like a "small brother" of the LinuxTag with a more local attitude. They offer free booth space, tables and wLan access for free software projects, and I was thinking about applying for a booth there to show off some of the current Linux Audio developments there, as we did when LinuxTag was still in Karlsruhe (2002..2005 or so). That would mean setting up the booth with computer, monitor, mixer, speakers, keyboard etc, and preparing some demo material. However, this task would need 1 or 2 more volunteers to man the booth during that time (please note: This is on a Sunday+Monday!). those who are following the development of the xiph CELT low latency codec might find this presentation interesting: http://www.celt-codec.org/presentations/ torben has implemented CELT support in netjack1, and this video helped me a lot in understanding how it actually works.
