Hello!
I'm not subscribed to LKML, so positng here.
Anyone tried 2.6.9-rc2-mm1-VP-S3?
In two words: no luck.
i8042 does not work at all (have an usb kbd hopely).
Nvidia-61.11 does not modprobe (unresolved symbols), but builds .
2.6.9-rc1-VP-S0 works fine. except for few lockups after writing cds
(may be not kernel, but xorg-6.8.0).
Any comments?

hello everybody!
i've finally got an usb-audio card for my linux audio madness, i've
taken a tascam us122, beacuse of the good support it has, infact i was
able to use it, i've not tested it extensively because i was moving and
my laptop had a desperate need of a reinstalling :P
i've reinstalled this ibook with a net-installed debian sid and the
first thing i've done was compiling the same alsa and kernel versions,
linux vanilla 2.6.8.1 and alsa-driver 1.0.6a, alsa-lib 1.0.6 but all
alsa wont work...
with the internal powermac audio card (which was working) i got a
undefined referece, in compile time (but not fatal, since the module is
compiled) and in inserting time:
Zeryn:/home/willy# modprobe snd-powermac
snd_powermac: Unknown symbol num_controls
Zeryn:/home/willy#
but i can live without it, i have the oss module and i plan to not use
it anymore, because the tascam card will be conencted to everything in
my setup, but the strangest things happened when i tried to plug the
usb-usx2y module: a variety of freezes, kernel panics, oops, so i've
tried to compile different versions of alsa and kernel, i've tried
combinations of:
linux 2.4.27, 2.6.8, 2.6.7, 2.6.9-rc2, 2.6.9-rc2-bk9
alsa 1.0.6, 1.0.6a, 1.0.7rc1, alsa-cvs (alsa cvs was broken)
now i got the same error over and over again, the hotplug scrits are
loading the firmware, the module is correctly loaded and the card is
powering up well and the usb led keeps to stay on, but, when i try to
launch jack or an audio application i got some messages regarding
"sequence errors" and i have to kill the application via ctrl-c, if i
restart the application i have a freeze (no kernel panics or such)
this is the kernel log from kernel module loading to the freeze

Q is a functional programming language based on the term rewriting
calculus, see http://q-lang.sourceforge.net for details. This release
provides a collection of sample multimedia programs written with Q:
- QAudioPlayer, an audio player with waveform and FFT display
- QMidiCC, a MidiShare patchbay and transport control
- QMidiPlayer, a MidiShare-based MIDI player
- QSCSynth, a GUI frontend for SuperCollider
These programs also demonstrate how to embed a Q application in a KDE/Qt
GUI. A recent KDE version is required (3.2 has been tested). And you'll
need the Q core and multimedia packages, of course.
Descriptions, screenshots and download links can be found here:
http://q-lang.sourceforge.net/examples.html
Download, for the impatient:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=96881&package_id=1309…
Besides this, there are also new releases of Q-Audio (which now uses
PortAudio v19, with support for Alsa and Jack) and Q-Synth (fixes for
compatibility with recent SuperCollider versions in CVS). Moreover, FC1
and SuSE 9.1 RPMs for PortAudio v19 and SuperCollider are now also
available for your convenience. See
http://q-lang.sourceforge.net/download.html
Enjoy!

Hi,
it has been reported that the 2.6.8 kernel has fixed the handling of
USB resets, so now it's possible to use a Linux firmware loader to get
these devices to work.
You can get the loader at <http://usb-midi-fw.sf.net/>.

This may sound strange, but I think this is the normal behaviour. Just
ignore the message. Is there a problem besides this?
(which reminds me, have to release a new version of vstserver soon)

Hi peeps,
Is there anything out there to convert Akai sample CDs?
Cheers,

Hi,
i just scratched an itch i had for some time. A command line based
small and simple utility to store/restore jack connection states. Thus
i release this initial [hack] version. Maybe someone else finds it
useful.
