Wow ! I used to work with Xfig for longtime (now I use Inkscape), and
I am surprised that it offered you a crash (particularly so rapidly) !
Anyway, my advise would be to take the time to know Inkscape, it
really is a great software. A good point is that you can include latex
equations in it with textext, and even modify them. Wonderful, isn't
it ? :)
