Thats not /quite/ true, JACK will dither the output (if asked to) which
will improve the audio quality, and if the output of your program is going
to be used by another then JACKs float data will help.
Essentially though, it makes little difference.

New subject: [linux-audio-dev] which API for best quality output
hello
thank you for your advices. Let's go for learning Jack's API. If some
people have other advices, i will read them carefully !
Another question : is there any other do such that the "audio quality
howto" ? (about the use of threads in audio prog, like
http://www.djcj.org/LAU/guide/audio_quality_HOWTO.htm#dropouts))
