A quick question. Is Hydrogen now a jackmidi app? I've been searching
the interlink, and did see some discussion about it, and i wondered if
this was an impending reality, or a false dawn. I've downloaded the
latest stable but no jackmidi present as yet.

It doesn't seem to support jack midi. I just compiled latest svn.
It shows no jack midi ports and doesn't contain jack midi under midi

Only thing I didn't check is a new compiletime option that needs to be
enabled, but I deem that rather unlikely.

2. IIRC, the notes are scheduled for frame 0 of
the current process cycle... basically ignoring
the frame number. Long story why. Also,
I seem to recall doing something to fix that...

Gabriel, thanks for the heads up. So far, in testing, it works, and
does what i want it to do. And for the first time since i started
using Hydrogen, it's pretty stable, and doesn't fall over at the first
sign of a challenge.

Adrian, no offence intended, it's been my user experience that
anything that has portaudio or portmidi involved, is prone to
challenges. I'm thinking a "pure' jack build here.
I'm not sure about hydrogen as an lv2 plugin either. I can't see where
this would be useful, although others might disagree, showing valid
use cases.

jackmidi is so much better than alsa midi for timing that I am trying
very hard to get away from alsa all together.

IMHO basically every linux audio app should support jack midi. It seems
to be not perfect but in most cases superior to alsa-seq

Just a question to get my understanding right: the sequencer is this
pattern based timeline? And why wouldn't I want the QT GUI when being an

loaded, too. Total recall. And host synchronization, including
glitchfree looping.

As this thread indicates, just posting an interest in seeing jackmidi
included has brought more than one response. As Gabriel seems to have
done a fair chunk of the coding already, and he's already indicated
his work seemed to be ignored for lack of interest from you chaps,

As more and more apps are built and upgraded with jackmidi, the one's

imho, will benefit from having, for the first time, sample accurate
midi.

available for testing. Jackmidi is more important for me than anything
else at the moment, so i have a vested interest in co-operating with
you to see this particular component polished to stable maturity.

Are you saying you are not interested in seeing jack-midi make it into
hydrogen with your help?
Is it only developers that get a say by coding something?
I code for open source and for a living, I see great value in the needs
of the users. It is the only thing that allows an application to grow to
a professional level.
