I thought about it again
(tonight before falling asleep :) and I think,
from a practical viewpoint, you are right: If you take a signal generated
by a white noise source and fed it into the STFT, you get a constant
spectrum (approximatly); so do you, if you take a delta-peak. And the
diffrence is, that the delta-peak contains all frequencies phase-aligned
while white noise contains all frequencies with random phase. I am sorry
:(.
