Hello!
Did any of you guys ever tried to use the OpenAL API interface towards a
Firewire sound device like FA-101? I see that it appears on your lists as a
device that has drivers on Linux.

I have an FA-101 and have it running by compiling freebob and jack myself.

hi, you have to use the jackd's freebob backend, and try alsa's jackplug
to make alsa apps (and that library to talk to jack)
I had successfully ran games that use alsa with jackplug that forward
the 'traffic' to jackd
