Hello again,
I've coded a module to use the fast_lookahead_limiter plugin. Upon
using the LADSPA plugin's run function, it segfaults. gdb reveals:
(gdb) step
runFastLookaheadLimiter (instance=0x80de1d8, sample_count=1) at
fast_lookahead_limiter_1913.xml:79
79 fast_lookahead_limiter_1913.xml: No such file or directory.
in fast_lookahead_limiter_1913.xml

I can't find any information about this. I don't understand or know why
it needs to access the xml file. I don't what I am meant to do to make
sure it finds it, or even where it's meant to be.
There was no such problem implementing GLAME Butterworth filters. How
I'm meant to tell?

As far as I understand, the real problem is not related to missing xml
file - the xml file is only needed for the debugger to be able to
display the source code line (because the source code for Steve's
plugins is autogenerated from xml!).
The lack of xml file is not the reason for the crash, you just get a
warning message from the debugger, which tries to locate the source code
in order to display the line your program crashed in.
Are you sure you have all ports connected properly?

Sorry, my fault, got confused - the crash happened with debugging symbols
removed - not thinking it could be my code of course. I had better check
those ports... Which reminds me:
Seeing as I'm hard coding these plugins, ie the fast lookahead limiter,
will be handled by a specialised (wcnt) module named
fast_lookahead_limiter
what can i assume about ladspa ports - - - >
input a will always be the same index?
input a will always be named "super fandangled input a" ?
is it safe to make these assumptions?

Oh, and by the way: you use 'directory' command in gdb to specify the
directory the xml is located in. The xml should be somewhere in the
sources of Steve Harris' plugin pack.

as I wrote the GLAME Butterworth filter, I'm just curious to know what
you mean with "no such problem"?
Why should the GLAME filter have your debugging problem? Did you write
your plugin within the
swh-plugins framework? How did you do it?
