Zita-lrx - First release 05/01/2012

Zita-lrx is a command line jack application providing 2, 3, or 4-band,
4th order crossover filters. The filter type is continuously variable
between Linkwitz-Riley (-6dB at the xover frequency) and Butterworth
(-3 dB at the xover frequency). Outputs are exactly phase matched in
the crossover regions.
The application supports up to 16 channels. This is a compile time
limit and easily changed, but if you have many channels it may be
a better idea to use two or more instances in order to spread the
load in an SMP system. Not that it would matter much - on my old
2 GHz P4, CPU load is around 0.6% per channel for four bands.
Configuration is by a text file using 'OSC' style syntax (similar
to Ambdec and Jconvolver). Apart from the basic filter parameters,
the following can be set:
- Channel labels (used for naming Jack ports).
- Frequency band names (used in output port names).
- Optional output autoconnections.
- For each channel: gain and delay (in ms).
- For each frequency band: gain and delay.

I appreciate a lot this app.
I work in live sound, as soon as I can I will test it in a big system.
For now is compiled and working (Xubuntu 11.10) in a small yamaha system
with a subwoofer, using example2.slrx.
I have a question, ¿is there a posibility to change parametres when is
running? like the delay time between bands or crossover frecuency? may
be thru OSC?

Not with this version. It would be possible to add this, but
for this release I made a very clear decision to not make it
interactive. There are some good reasons for that:
- Avoiding problems: you don't want to send high level LF
to your HF drivers by accident for example, something
that would be all too easy to do from a GUI.
- Parameters such as the per frequency band delays are not
determined interactively, they are a function of the
physical properties of the speaker and are calculated
rather than found by experiment.
That doesn't exclude any interactive version in the future
of course. OSC control would certainly be a possibility, it
will depend on demand from users. So I've set that counter
to +1 now...

Not with this version. It would be possible to add this, but
for this release I made a very clear decision to not make it

Sorry, no such counter... And the code is not GPL licensed.

Add another +1 for that, there is more possible uses for this than simply
speaker management(For instance multiband processing via a jack 'network'),
and even in speaker management, while the parameters can be calculated,
sometimes it can be difficult, especially if using speakers that weren't
originally intended to be used together (Sub from one manufacturer tops
from another) which makes it more likely some playing may be desired.
That being said, thanks very much for the release, will be testing it out
myself here before long.
