Hi all,
As discussed previously on this list, we are getting ready for a
migration of the three LA* lists to linuxaudio.org.
Many things are done to make our list better. One of them concerns
archives. As you may have noted, LA* archives found on
music.columbia.edu date back to 2002. Ico told me that there used to
be an LA list hosted somewhere else way before that (1998).
Having to do this migration, we will also migrate our archives. If
possible it would be cool to be able to merge also the older archives
in the whole.
The question is, do some of you have any idea where I could find these
archives, if they still exit...

I'm using a simple rsync script for lalists.standford.edu, so I can easily

risk breaking zillions of links (LAD/LAU/LAA archives contain a lot of
useful stuff people can link to from blogs/articles/etc/etc).

Hi Kai,
I did find the Stanford archives but unless I am missing something (and
please do correct me if I am wrong) the early years (98 for instance), at
least from what is available online, seems to be incomplete. Are the
remaining posts also available somewhere offline?
Either way, it would be great if we could merge all these together.

As far as I know, there are only the 21 messages from 1998 available
anywhere. As for 1999, the archives present 2 copies of the same 801
mesages from May 1999 through 07 March 2000:

I should have said that the 2 directories are identical. Probably they
were presented this way since they span 1999-2000. For all I know one
could be a symlink to the other.

Yes, some people provided me with earlier messages from 1998-99 and I
merged them to my archive (which was first at eca.cx/lad[adu] and now at
lalists.stanford.edu). If someone can find even earlier messages, I'm
happy to merge them to the online archive!

No problem there since it will be a one shot upload. I can migrate
archives of all that was posted on music.columbia.edu since 2002. All
we need is what came before. As for the futur messages, they will be
archived anyway directly by linuxaudio.org's mailman.
