any moves for quite some time, and I have had varying luck with it; there
is also a set of Perl scripts ("akai_tools.tar.gz") by Hiroyuki Ohsaki;
however, someone just discovered recently that his old homepage is no more,
and the new homepage at
http://www.ispl.jp/~oosaki/software/akaitools/index.html does not contain
the actual source download link (I just mailed Hiroyuki asking him to correct
this). I still have a copy at home, so mail me offlist if you need that.

Ok, writing this here was perhaps poor behaviour on my side - instead I
should have sent you some success/failure feedback directly earlier. Sorry
for that.
I have collected a couple of sample CDs over the years, and for some of them
the partition and file data is just not read in correctly. Also, the GUI
seems to forget to refresh sometimes.
I'll send you some screenshots off-list, and perhaps we can then work it out
together. By the way, the "akai-tools" Perl scripts also had problems with one
of these CDs - perhaps it's badly "authored". Still to be investigated.

New subject: [linux-audio-dev] ardour export multichannel
How to export multichannel (3+ channels) sound-files from ardour
sessions?
(I tried piping to "arecord -c6..." but it didnt work
immediately, got confused, gave up and used clm instead.)

use jackrec or timemachine. both can use any number of JACK ports
and will write n-channel output files.
and file a feature request in ardour.org/mantis to request that
ardour's existing export facilities cover more than just stereo or
mono.
