Hello,
Does anyone know of a good plugin that will generate subharmonics?
I would like to put a little more low frequency "oomph" into my bass
track. Preferrable LADSPA, but VST would work, too.
Thanks for any help!

Dear all,
this is the second call for papers for the 5th Linux Audio Developers
Conference (LAC2007). This is a reminder since some people might not
have received the last call or might just have forgotten about the
deadlines by now (08 Jan 2007 : Deadline for submission of papers,
worshops, tutorials, demos, hands on demos and music).
The conference is organized by the TU-Berlin in cooperation with people
of the Linux Audio Developers mailing list, the music festival
Inventionen 2007 and the Humboldt University of Berlin.
The LAC2007 is taking place at the TU-Berlin, Germany from the 22nd -
25th of March 2007.
We have introduced some new tracks. Besides the category for papers,
demos and workshops, calls for tutorials and hands on demos have been
added. The tutorials aim is to give new (potential) users an overview of
the possibilities of Linux Audio Software and how to get started.
The LAC2007 provides a computer pool (LA Pool) where developers can give
an introduction to their software and where participants can try out
Linux Audio Software during the conference. This has been combined in
the call hands on demos.
Since the TU-Berlin is installing a new Wave Field Synthesis (WFS)
system the call for music has been extended by a call for compositions
for this system. Music that can be used for radio airplay can be
submitted, and will after acceptance by the Campusradio of the TU
Berlin, be played during the conference.
More detailed Information can be found in the 'Call for Papers' attached
to this email or on the website at:
www.lac.tu-berlin.de
We are looking forward to many interesting submissions for the Linux
Audio Conference 2007 and hope to see you in Berlin in 2007!
Please feel free to forward this email to anybody who is interested.
On behalf of the LAC2007 organisation team,
Marije Baalman and Simon Schampijer
Where is a guide to doing this?
I tried this:
http://tapas.affenbande.org/?page_id=6
with patch-2.6.19-rc6-rt9 and linux-2.6.19-rc6.tar.gz.
Won't boot. I get various messages... I wanted to ask, is there
something I can post, and where, to show what is wrong with my
configuration?
One thing I get repeatedly is "hda_codec invalid_dep_range". I get
lots of hits on google- of people asking the same question.
The only kernel I have working is not real-time, and jack can't keep
up. I see lots of references to how low-latency operation is well
understood, but it seems everything changes very quickly and none of
the references I can find are definitive.
I tried this before, and came away deciding people with deadlines
don't use Linux; a real-time kernel has proven to be a pipe dream for
me. I have two weeks until the end of the semester and lots of music
to do, but I'd still like to use Linux for it.
I'm running a laptop with a 2 Ghz AMD64. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

Does anyone know of a good vocoder app or plugin?

Hi all,
Any news on this one? IIRC, there was some talk that such a feature would be
sponsored by Google's summer of code, but am not sure if this was the case
or if anything ever became of it?
Best wishes,
Ico
Hi and merry Christmas + happy new year to all!
This is a song I wrote last week and recorded using muse, specimen, zyn
and ardour. It's the first song I did with my new SE usb2200a usb
microphone.

The dust haven't settled, so some things (for instance the synth solo
part) are subject to change, but I think it's gonna end up sounding
something along these lines...
(Christian) lyrics in danish, feedback welcome.

Okay, sorted out some file installation difficulties
and now it's up! Pretty cool. I wonder if there's a
program that can just "stick" a midi note for me
though for the carrier...

Evening List,
As a long time reader, but only fairly recent poster to this list, i
thought i should finally share some music with you.
Preamble:
This afternoon I got bored off wrapping presents for tomorrow so made
this track.
It ended up a bit more chilled than i intended but decided to post it anyway.
Get it here:

Any feed back/suggestions always welcome.
Enjoy and Merry Christmas,
Chris
So, I read the man page, I poked around on qsynth.sourceforge.net,
I read Dave's article at http://www.linuxjournal.com/article/8354
and I must be missing something really obvious, because I'm stumped:
How the heck do you use the channels dialog?
(qsynth 0.2.5 by the way.)
For example. I have added several soundfonts via the Soundfonts
dialog. I click the Channels button. Per Dave's tutorial, I expect to
see only names from the last font in my Soundfonts list. But I see a
mishmash of names from various soundfonts. And I can't seem to DO
anything with them. Per Dave's tutorial, I try right-clicking. I get
a popup menu with Edit and Refresh options. Fine, I choose Edit for
channel 1. I get a dialog labelled Channel 1. There doesn't seem to
be any way to actually edit anything here. For example, right now I can
select bank 0 or bank 2. Bank 0 includes this:
prog Name SFID Soundfont
---- ---- ---- ---------
1 BritePiano 5 TrachtmanSteinC_XFade2_2001Aug16
0 GrandPiano-Multi 5 TrachtmanSteinC_XFade2_2001Aug16
And bank 2 includes this:
prog Name SFID Soundfont
---- ---- ---- ---------
0 Roland 64VoicePiano 1 Roland_64VoicePiano
I can't find any way to add other programs, or remove the ones that
are showing. I seem to be permanently stuck with these. I don't even
really know how I got them in there :-(
As far as I can tell, what I'm actually hearing is bank 2 program 0.
I have resorted to every combination of mouse buttons and keyboard
modifiers I can think to try. Nothing I do has any visible or audible
effect.
Help!
