Hi y'all
There's a sample library I'm looking at, which comes in Kontakt 2
format. I can't find any linux apps supporting kontakt 2 format. Is this
because of patent issues, or just because nobody's had the time to do
it?
thanks
John

I was excited by the possibilities of SooperLooper, but alas it seems really SooperFlaky on my system.
It segfaults when doing common operations on a loop. It tends to be more flaky when using longer loops or loops which are imported WAV files.
My system info is here:
http://www.restivo.org/projects/asus/system-details/
I'm using the 1.0.8c-2 Debian Sid package of SooperLooper, which appears to be the most current released version.
I asked on the SooperLooper list and was met with crickets. Perhaps nobody there is using it on Linux, so I figured I'd ask here.
I tried FreeWheeling too, and had similar problems; after running for a while it'd just disappear on me.

Well, because I *like* linux audio, wine is a pain in the arse, my
wife's mac doesn't have the processing power to run kontakt, and the
only windows box I have is ancient and only for those times when one
can't open a document in linux. Besides which, I don't own kontakt and I
don't particularly want to buy it.

There isn't, as far as I can tell. I'm wondering if that's because of
patent issues, or just because nobody's had the time to do it.

Greetings,
Some time ago someone here was looking for a MIDI arpeggiator. Here's a
fairly new one :
http://www.mucoder.net/hypercyclic/
Available as a standalone app and as a native Linux VST (for use in JOST
and eXT2). I played a bit with the standalone, it's pretty cool.
Best,
dp
Now there's some musique concrete that makes sense for a change:

Make sure to watch until the end, this person must be from outer space.

hallo list,
i have a question about debian-testing and pam modules.
i am still using pam modules from ubuntustudio v0.76.22-ubuntu3studio1
for accesing realtime priorities as user.
those i have installed at least one year ago and blocked them in
synaptic for not being able to replace them, cause at that time the
debian version was not 'patched for realtime' (sorry don't know the
right expression here).
so what is the status in debian now - could i simply unblock the pam
modules and get the one from debian-testing, which is v0.99.7.1-4?
is this possible or would i have any performance issues if replacing?
cheers,
doc
Hello. I installed Linux Studio yesterday and have all the updates.
I understood that my echoaudio pcmcia card would be recognized, but I am
having trouble getting it to work. Could anyone point me to the latest
installation instructions? Thanks.
BTW -- LinuxStudio seems to lose the "Applications" drop-down menu, and
I cannot restore it. Anyone know what that's about?
Thanks.
Susan
