Well, doesn't reiserfs use quite a lot more cpu than ext3? I think
that may make a significant difference...
This was sent to me only, sending to list:

Version 1.2 of the free open source Linux software synthesizer
Minicomputer is out. This audiosynthesizer creates complex waveforms and
shapes them in a three stage formant filter. More at
http://minicomputer.sourceforge.net/
or directly at
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=203751
Changes:
1.2 1.May 2008
- new: installer/deinstaller
- new: installerscript for presets
- new: unified behaviour, editor is called now minicomputer and when
started by user, launches t he core and shuts it down too
- fix: improved midihandling while using less cpu cycles
- fix: backup of memory files should work now

Industrial synthesizer for Industrial people
Hallo!
Is there any tool where it is possible to process a soundfile with a
ladspa plugin, so that I don't need to open a sound editor ?
For instance, I have 10 audio files and want to process them with ladspa
plugin AAA with parameters x,y,z.
Is there a possibility to do that in a shell or an other scripting
language (e.g. python) ?
Thanks for any hints,
LG
Georg
PS: I have found python-ladspa (http://python-ladspa.sourceforge.net/)
but it didn't really work for me ...

I downloaded some soundfonts the other day, and some of them are .sfArk files. Google happily tells me that they are compressed .sf2 files, but I haven't found a program to extract them. What's everyone using on these??
Thanks.
What are people's recommendations for sending/recieving sysex
files. How about .mid files containing patch info?
I am happy to use something under wine if that is the best way...
Simple sysexxer locks up when I try to load one of the syx files
it generated.

Dear All,
ANyone used one of these with linux? Couldn't find it's usbid online --
what I want to know is is it worth getting, as in is it supported, have
people found it useful as a controller probably for hydrogen or midi
into specimen? I'm definitely getting a BCF2000 this or next week, but
found a cheap M-Audio and have seen them in action for drums. Haven't
found anything on google yet; if someone does want to point out that I'm
misusing google in this case then I sincerely apologise.
God Bless
Jonty
