Wow :(!
That reminds me to the "Spiegel-Affäre", when Buback tried to throwback
Germany to the III Reich, by banning liberty of the press. The RAF
killed this NAZI :).

I was wondering if the was a command line utility for converting a midi file
into some sort of multi tracked audio file. So if the midi file has 7 tracks
it outputs an audio file with 7 tracks or 7 different audio files.

Hi *!
The timetable for the International Conference on Spatial Audio 2011 in
Detmold/Germany is now online:
http://www.icsa2011.org/vdt/webdownloads/icsa2011/ICSA_Program_Schedule_201…
The conference emphasizes the scientific and technical aspects of
spatial audio, but a number of workshops and presentations will be
devoted to the artistic and esthetic possibilities and challenges as well.
In addition to five structured sessions on various spatial audio topics,
the conference will feature installations of WFS + Height, Auro-3D,
Binaural and Higher-order Ambisonic systems. During a three-day
recording session last week totalling more than 140 microphone signals,
we have recorded several chamber music ensembles simultaneously for all
those methods and will offer conference participants a first-hand
opportunity for comparison.
Complementing the two fixed WFS installations available in Detmold, an
additional temporary 40-speaker setup will be rigged for WFS and
Higher-order Ambisonics reproduction, and one seminar room will be
equipped for 9+2 channel Auro-3D playback.
Registration is now open.
Best regards,
Jörn

Works fine here. If I recall correctly, you need to install the "guest
additions". This is done once you have the xp client running ... it's
the <devices> menu.
Next, just go to the <devices> menu and enable the USB-MIDI device you
have (I'm assume you are using a USB->MIDI, don't know about a MIDI
card).
Speaking of Virtualbox, awhile ago I created a vbox-share directory in
my home directory and in that put a sym-link to my MMA directory. I
was then able to mount the vbox-share directory as E: and run my
linux/python program from there. I thought this was very cool :)

Just wondering if any of you are using an Akai Ewi4000s as a midi
controller on a linux box. Success (or lack)?
I'd like to give it a go, but I'm wondering what synth would be best,
setup, etc. I've tried a synth on linux before (many years) with
limited success ... surely things have improved! I've tried running a
keyboard off the EWI but it's quite useless to do so ... I think the
breath controller messages get in the way?
Thanks.

That sounds intereasting :)
Thank you

The add-on CustomizeGoogle also is very nice, currently I'm using no
add-on.
You're right, perhaps it's too OT now. We might stop it.

Hi,
I made some LV2 plugins which I lacked LV2/LADSPA version, mostly no new
ideas but variants of Rakkarack effects - distortion and a 3-band
variant, ranging from soft to pure evil (use with IR plugin for cabinet
simulation) and lightweight 4-band compressor (controls just for cross
freqencies, ratios and thresholds).
Some of you might find I used your code, I hope I got the license &
copyright stuff sorted out all right and you are glad someone found your
work useful.
Well have a look and try it out:
