Hello all!
I decided to finish of a song I started doing this summer, but never got
around to finishing. It's basically a remake of the old A Change of
Heart-cover me and a friend did back like two years ago (someone might
remember that), so I've re-used the vocals but given it a new musical body
so to speak! Maybe it can entertain someone! =)
It's available on http://www.ironink.se/music.htm in several formats, and
on Soundcloud http://soundcloud.com/zthmusic/a-change-of-heart-2012 .
Let me know what you think! =)
(I also got featured by Alexandre Prokoudine on
http://libregraphicsworld.org/ , there's some about my production process
and some screenshots, if someone's interested =) Thanks a ton Alex! )
Cheers!
Hi all,
I released today a new version of the avw.lv2 plugins.
On the changes side:
- all plugins that needed it have been migrated to use CV ports
- all plugins now have a brand new (and hopefully sexier!) GUI
- the dials now react to mouse scrolling
- David Robillard fixed a lot of things in the description files:
* Fixed several errors and typos discovered by sord_validate
* Clean up port names, use label conventions consistent with fomp
* Describe project separately and link plugins to it
* Make ports with scale points enumerations
* Categorized plugins and remove references to non-existent classes
* "Envelop" => "Envelope
I as well replaced the presets with 2 new ones as examples: a bass synth
and a very simple pad.
I have been playing with these plugins over the past few days, and combined
with the latest svn ingen, it is a very stable and usable experience ;
that's why I bumped up the version to 0.1
You can download the latest release from here:

This thread has been great. My training is broadcast, where there is
generally no monitoring in the same room as mics. The talent is cued when
to start talking and when to finish. All my live performance training has
been on the job, trial and error, with whatever common sense thrown in. It
is just the last little while after getting a nicer vocal mic for my home
recording set up (I hesitate to call it a "studio"), that I realized how
bad the stage mics I have been using for years sound. This happens to
coincide with rebuilding that will be happening where I play (a small
church). There looks to be new sound equipment in the mix where I will
likely have some say on what we get. I am going to try an omni I have
sitting around for our KB player... no cost involved and I can switch it
out if it doesn't work. I will look for the EQ by-pass switch as well :)

I've just noticed there's a pretty good "No Brainer Holiday Promotion"
on Mixbus v2(.2) until 2nd Jan 2013. Just $40 and the LinuxDSP Mixbus
Bundle is also reduced. Does seem too good to miss.

Hi
I'm looking for a drum synthesizer for linux. There are a lot of "normal" synths but I could not find a drum synth which seems to be maintained. I'm talking about something like the Roland TR-909 (I'm not interested in the sequencing part just the sounds). I know that there are many available sample libraries and I have some samples but I'd like to have a real synth in order to manipulate the sounds exactly as I want.
I know about smack (http://smack.berlios.de/) but it seems not to be maintained anymore. And then I thought drumkv1 (http://drumkv1.sourceforge.net/drumkv1-index.html) is what I need but it seems that it is "only" a sampler and cannot produce sound on its own (or did I get that wrong?). Of course the best thing would be a combinations of both (e.g. Syntesizer for the basedrum and samples for the hihats...).
Thanks and regards
Oliver

ah, so it seems a problem with LMMS. I don't use it so I'm not able to
help... you probably will have better luck if you use LMMS' support
(don't know if they have a mailing list, irc channel or what). Also
you'll probably need to specify more detail, like details on your
system, what you're doing when it locks the CPU and so on
best of luck ;)
