Oops, I've just realized, that at one point I forgot to CC the list.
Sorry about that!
Anyway, I compiled the sourceforge version of qjackctl, and it works
fine, so it must be a distribution-related bug.
Thanks a lot for your help!

Hello, all,
Here's a question for the fine DSP and accoustic experts on this list. I
need to apply different processing (mostly reverb and compression) to
different bandwidths of the frequency spectrum on a given track. How
would I go about using filters to implement crossovers as flat as
possible? Most plugins do not actually seem to tell what their rolloff
curve is.
Thanks.
Cheers,
s.M.

Say you have a poem and I have a tune.
Exchange them and we can both have a poem, a tune, and a song.
Does anyone know of a (preferably command line) program to generate
chord names from note values. I'd like to be able to type in something
like:
>> c d g
and get back
G major
or something like that.
Thanks.

Hi all, we just officially closed the Hydrogen Drumkit
Contest<http://hydrogen.popez.org/hcms/node/2035>!
We received 10 drumkits, and some of them are ... euh … let's say
'surprising' ;-)
For those that submitted a drumkit : good luck !
For those of you that didn't have enough time to finish your drumkit :
maybe next year there will be a second edition, who knows ...
Now it's up to the jury to do their thing.
They will evaluate the musicality, originality and the tech side of the
drumkits.
Once all the scores are in we will announce the winners (should be before
the end of July)
Happy drumming !
The Hydrogen team
Hi :)
OT:
Dunno why your Layla shows up as two independent sound-cards, however,
AFAIK when using a sound card with an ADAT device, just the optical
cable is needed, there's no need to sync by an additional word clock BNC
cable, as long as all cards are connected by ADAT.
IIUC there never ever will be perfect sync between cards using different
AD/DA converters.
My setup is based on a RME HDSPe AIO + a Behringer ADA 8000. IMO the
Behringer isn't a good audio device, OTOH at least my Behringer ADA 8000
is good for frying eggs. Some time ago I repaired a power supply for
another Behringer device, because it gets broken by undersized
semiconductors, that costs around 2 Cents.
Anyway, if I (would) use my ADA 8000, it (would) work(s) with jack, so
your trouble might be related to the issue, that your sound card does
appear as two cards.
Regards,
Ralf
