Hello everyone, I'm trying to install and use zita-jacktools, but unfortunately I don't get it to work. https://media.ccc.de/v/lac2018-46-jacktools_realtime_audio_processors_as_py… I managed to compile it and install it. According to http://linux-audio.4202.n7.nabble.com/zita-jacktools-available-now-td106280…, I needed also to compile zita-convolver 4.0.0 first, which I did, and which also went well. I've done the following: 1. download and unpack: - zita-audiotools - zita-jacktools - zita-jclient - zita-convolver 4.0 2. make and install zita-jclient and zita-convolver: - go to source, them make, then sudo make install 3. install zita-audiotools and zita-jacktools: - go to folder, then python3 setup.py build - then install with sudo python3 setup.py install Now I can import jacktools in Python without errors. But if I try to use it OR to run an example file (e.g. tobspect.py like in the ccc video), I get the following error: ImportError: libzita-jclient.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory In the nabble thread, a user said that zita-jclient is installed to /usr/local/lib64, but zita-jacktools only included /usr/lib as the library path. So I copied libzita-convolver and libzita-jclient from /usr/local/lib64 to /usr/lib, but I still get the same error message. Does someone have any hint? I'm developing a open source Python application, where I really need fast and rock solid interpolation for the mixer faders, so I'd really love to use JackGainctl for this.... qjackctl jackd different -p size

Hi, I've set jackd to -p 128 in qjackctl (0.6.2 Debian), but jackd shows up in htop and Carla with -p 64. Huh? Regards, \r

kxstudio

Some time ago I installed kxstudio on my ubuntu system. I'm not sure if I was using it or not :) But I'm trying to upgrade to a new ubuntu and I get ppa not found problems so I'm trying to remove it. It appears have these 2 ppa's: /etc/apt/sources.list.d/kxstudio-debian.gcc5plus.list:deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kxstudio-debian/kxstudio/ubuntu xenial main /etc/apt/sources.list.d/kxstudio-debian.gcc5plus.list.distUpgrade:deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kxstudio-debian/kxstudio/ubuntu xenial main But, I have no idea how to remove them. I've tried ppa-purge with a number of variations of kxstudio, kxstudio-debian, etc but nothing seems to work. Mackie 1640i i/o ports not detected in claudia, works with catia.

Hi, I am using KXStudio repos on Debian Testing with Mackie 1640i firewire interface on Lenovo Thinkpad T420. I followed most of this https://wiki.linuxaudio.org/wiki/system_configuration to tune my system for audio work. I am starting JACKd with cadence automatically on boot. Everything seems to work fine with Ardour and even PulseAudio sink but when I run Catia (version 5:0.9.1 from kxrepos) it detects my FW device and shows I/O ports so I can patch connections but not showing the device and I/O ports in Claudia (version 5:0.9.1 from kxrepos). custom RT kernel 5.4.19-rt9-fw (I am using some patch to tune FIFO buffer on my firewire controller and get less xruns but same issue remains with stock debian RT kernel) with libffado 2.4.2-1. without gna.org where are jack-mixer sources hosted?

Hi all, ever since the shut down of gna.org jack-mixer sources are nowhere else hosted..? Or are they ? I can always find the deb packages but not the sources. The old address (still used in jack audio and linuxaudio and FSF websites) is http://home.gna.org/jackmixer/ Unfortunately, the link is not stored in archive.org. Any idea who has a mirror of the gna site or at least sources for jack-mixer ? Thank you all!

Simple Computer Speakers

Is there anything I need to look out for when searching for a pair of US $20 USB connected computer speakers. This is for background audio, not recording nor monitoring. I'm mostly interested to know how careful I need to be to make sure USB speakers work on Linux. Thanks folks! Be well...

any simple no-gui midi controlled jack aware volume control?

Echo Audiofire12 units available

If this is not allowed, board ops please feel free to remove. I'm guessing, since firewire support in Linux is moving into the sunset, that this may be of more interest to the Apple/Protools people. But, Linux is my focus, so I figured I'd offer here in case there are still some Linux holdouts. ;) I have two Echo Audiofire 12 units that I am willing to part with for a reasonable price + shipping. They are in almost new condition. Never used on the road. And have lived in a temperature/humidity controlled environment. It's not that I wouldn't be a holdout as well, but, I just don't do any work that requires the horsepower. I think they can, in fact, be used as line level mixers without firewire...though I've never used them in that way. If there is any interest, contact me directly, so as not to clutter the list. Tascam US-122: No playback channels

Hi! I tried to make a Tascam US-122 "Classic" work with my Debian-testing-powered Thinkpad T410. I followed the instructions on https://alsa.opensrc.org/Tascam_US-122#Tascam_US-122_on_Debian_and_Ubuntu as far as I could (alsa-base is not in Debian, anymore) but once I tried to use the device for playback in pulseaudio I realized there was no sink created. Pulseaudio offers the possibility to use the TASCAM with "multiple input" besides "stereo input" (although I thought it's a stereo in/out device) but there was no option to use it as an output. I tried to use jackd to double-check the missing output, but it failed to startup.
