Does anyone know of software that can generate MIDI messages from a touchpad?
The idea would be to send CCs to a sequencer or soft synth, but being able to
send it to an external hardware device would also be very useful.

Say you have a poem and I have a tune.
Exchange them and we can both have a poem, a tune, and a song.
This is Steinway_IMIS soundfont, version 2.2.
ftp://musix.ourproject.org/pub/musix/sf2/Steinway_IMIS2.2
This version fixes the issue with loops. I hope this is the good one
and there are no more remaining major bugs.
Marcos is a little busy right now, so he asked me to make this fix. He
is thinking to make other improvements, so expect more updates soon.
Is anybody out here in LAU land have experience with PISound?

I have just bought one and am having quite sever teething problems with it.
It keeps freezing for ~45 seconds when running X and I cannot get it to
use the full display.

Hey hey,
this is my latest song, a very quiet song balancing on the edge between gentle
electro and acoustic downtempo:
https://youtu.be/Q9ErBjaMTZM
OGG Version:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/m3wqo4gg07wuqe2/ends_of_the_earth.ogg
On the Linux side I used Csound with my handpan instrument, one conga like
sound and a wobbly pad and many effects and rhythmic elements. There are also
field recordings of rain and crickets. LinuxSampler for piano, djembe and
table and Yoshimi for one of the choir layers. My hardware wavetable synth
served for teh phasey pad, FM-like bass and the other choir layer and twice
analogue goodnees for the deep main basses.
No new plugins in the production, but more attention to perceived depth.
And finally, here are the lyrics:
Sprite on the ice
In a mist laden dream.
Like rain from the skies,
You touch
And are gone with the stream.
Now, here...
I feel you close
Soft like a tear,
Sharp as a rose.
-
You're so near but far away,
Out of reach, across the seas.
Seeking you I sail astray,
I'll strive for you without cease.
Frozen and seared
By the rays of your moon.
My heart burns to dust
If I can't find you soon.
Here, now...
I make a vow.
I'll cross the earth,
Volcanoes and all... To you.
-
You're so near but far away,
Out of reach, across the seas.
Seeking you I sail astray,
I'll strive for you without cease.
Best wishes,
Jeanette

Hey hey,
I'm looking for a LADSPA plugin that can add some slight colouration for the
bright modern pop sound. So far I found the CAPS Saturation plugin (ID 1771),
which I have used, but is rather heavy handed. There's the Valve Saturation
(ID 1209), which I also think is a strong effect. I haven't had any experience
with the Invada saturation nor the CAPS compressor/saturating limiter.
This is just the result of searching for "saturate" in all LADSPA plugin names
and parameters.
Does anyone have a good suggestion? Have you gone for that sound before?
Best wishes and thanks,
Jeanette

'pw-cli dump short link' was very handy, permitted build of a simple CLI
patch manager for Pipewire (see
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/PipeWire#PipeWire_patch_sets_for_command_l…).
The 'dump' command appears to have been deleted. Anyone have a good
replacement, something which will generate a simple text list of
Pipewire links with both sides? 'pw-link -l' prints a list, but it's
not simple to parse...at least not for me :-)
Related: I keep trying to save patch sets in qpwgraph, but it only saves
one wire, out of dozens. Activated on, Exclusive tested on and off.
Clues, anyone?
