[LAU] [ANN] Vee One Suite 1.3.2 - A Mid-Spring'25 Release

Hello y'all, The 'Vee One Suite', the 'gang-of-four' 'old-school' software instruments, * synthv1 [1] as a polyphonic subtractive synthesizer; * samplv1 [2] a polyphonic sampler synthesizer; * drumkv1 [3] as yet another drum-kit sampler; * padthv1 [4] a polyphonic additive synthesizer. Are here released as a Mid-Spring'25 update... All delivered in dual form: - a pure stand-alone JACK client with JACK-session [5], NSM (Non/New Session Management [6]) and both JACK MIDI and ALSA MIDI [7] input support; - a LV2 instrument plug-in [8]. Change-log: - Unassigned element/sample keys are now shown grayed out on the virtual piano keyboard. (drumkv1 [3]) - Added generic Ogg Vorbis container type filter (*.ogg) to sample file requester dialog. [LAU] NeuralRack v0.1.7 released

NeuralRack is a Neural Model and Impulse Response File loader for Linux/Windows. It supports [*.nam files](https://www.tone3000.com/search?tags=103) and, or [*.json or .aidax files](https://www.tone3000.com/search?tags=23562) by using the [NeuralAudio](https://github.com/mikeoliphant/NeuralAudio) engine. For Impulse Response File Convolution it use [FFTConvolver](https://github.com/HiFi-LoFi/FFTConvolver) Resampling is done by [Libzita-resampler](https://kokkinizita.linuxaudio.org/linuxaudio/zita-resam… New in this release: - add CLAP support - add option to handle presets in stand-alone version ![NeuralRack](https://github.com/brummer10/NeuralRack/raw/main/NeuralRack.png?raw=true) Neuralrack allow to load up to two model files and run them serial. The input/output could be controlled separate for each model. For tone sharping a 6 band EQ could be enabled. Additional it allow to load up a separate Impulse Response file for each output channel (stereo). Neuralrack provide a buffered Mode which introduce a one frame latency when enabled. It could move one Neural Model, or the complete processing into a background thread. That will reduce the CPU load when needed. The resulting latency will be reported to the host so that it could be compensated. [LAU] Emulating guitar gear

Hello, I spent some time researching Neural Amp Modeler (NAM) and Impulse Response (IR) technologies. As I had trouble finding how are those generated, I wrote a small series of blog posts with my findings. In short, I wrote how to create NAM and IR files to emulate existing gear. I am by no means expert in the field, on the contrary, this is the first time I'm doing this. [LAU] LAC 2025

I'm wondering who else is going to this. I'll be there of course. I see there's going to be a banquet on the 'crossover' day between jimlac and lac, which also looks quite inviting. [LAU] Reading and analysing spectral amplitudes as visually impaired person.

Hi list, I am posting this to LAU in addition to the supercollider mailing list at https://scsynth.org/t/analysing-spectral-amplitudes-as-visually-impaired/11… A blind colleague has approached me with the need to read and analyse time-varying spectral amplitudes. I wonder what would be the best way to do this. I imagine one could do a python3 scipy stft and read the values from there, use some other text-based DSP software such as Supercollider or Csound. But let me first ask if anyone has any experience with this requirement and a possible soulution already. Thanks! P
