Also, by not studying code I don't mean literally not seeing someone's
code, but that usually you need only a small portion of it. For me
this was true, I find no difficulty in agreeing that my experience is
different from other people's.
When studying (and it says 'studying') code then the need is to
understand deeply algorithms. In which case this cannot be done be
reading only small portions.
Have you actually done reverse engineering of complex code ?
