Other wikis do use licenses like you mention, and require that a
contributor agree to such license before he makes a contribution.
Sometimes that is handled (at least partially) by having a note to
that effect next to the save button.
I vote for the latter case. Otherwise if the author isn't available
anymore some day, it's difficult to ask him if his contribution may be
used for this or that. Even on
WIkipedia.org you have to choose from a
set of available licenses, otherwise your post will be deleted.
