Hee everybody,
i noticed that the announcement of the course was somewhat of an issue at this
mailinglist. We (WORM) have been working within the Linux scene for a while
now and we're familiar with the cons of some people.
I don't mean to cause any irritations so a short explanation:
our intention is to get people in touch with Linux (audio) and teach them to
work with that. WORM works only with Linux in the office and in developments
and we just want to pass it on.
We can' t do it but Mr. Moors developed a course to learn people to work with
Linux Audio. And well, teaching costs time, energy and knowledge (which means
even more time) and material things. For the people who are bothered by the
high price; i understand that it seems like a lot of money but nobody is
getting rich of it or even making a profit here. (On the contrary even)
Besides that, if you check out other courses (for example everything on
www.linuxcursus.nl) 350 euros is a very fair price. And if you can't pay it
at once, you can also pay it in three months. What you get for it is a
quality course, knowledge and a solid basis to work with Linux Audio software
and applications. As a musician you can use this information for the rest of
your life. If you think it's too expensive you can always take the time and
figure everything out yourself.
And we are always interested in people who can teach about Linux. Not only the
artistic side, also the more technical side. if you have anything to offer,
please mail me at Katelyn(a)wormweb.nl. I would be happy to know!
Ciao,
Katelyn
