My question is: can I connect an Ibanez
AW40ECE-NT guitar to a mixer with
phantom power switched on? The guitar has a fishman pickup and an Ibanez SST
preamp and I'll connect with the mixer using the XLR output, so the connection
will be XLR to XLR.

I'm not sure it will necessarily hurt anything, but I don't think it's
going to help your guitar sound. You're already plugged into a preamp, I
don't think you need further power.

Hi Dave,
yes I don't need phantom power for my guitar :)
I'm in a very common case that switching the phantom power ON on the
mixer will send the 48V to all the mixer XLR inputs and I can't use any
other input channel for my guitar without some compromise.
Ah and I need phantom to power a condeser microphone of course.
Best regards,
