At any case, IMHO the main problem is DACs realization rather format
limitation.

The thing is, real resolution of almost all
DACs is not better rather 14-15 bits. Very rare and very expensive DACs
have real resolution about 20-21 bits.
May it be :-) the switch from 16/44.1 to 24/96 is very well audible
anyway :-). I guess, for the realworld-usage of this card signal/noise
ratio is of greater importance then the question, if the DAC could
compute even greater resolution then the one I hear.
