ymmv. my initial reaction would be to trust the 64 studio kernel over
all of the suggestions, just b/c they are familiar with the linux
audio landscape.
The liquorix kernel is not a RT kernel. And I tried the 64 Studio
kernel, had to change the apt line though:

Thanks for correcting this.
Tried to reboot, kernel panic.
Really?! Maybe you're missing an initrd?! Although that should be
created automatically we had an issue with this in the past:
IIRC /etc/kernel-img.conf needs to have "do_initrd=Yes" which is set on
new 64studio/openDAW installations but may not be on by default on sid.
You can run
`update-initramfs -c -k 2.6.33.7-rt29-multimedia-amd64; update-grub2`
manually after installing the kernel. Sorry for the inconvenience. I'll
see if we can work-around this if it really is the issue.
Could be because this was on Sid. The
Pengutronix kernel works fine. But it doesn't have the nouveau driver so
I can't use it really.
64studio's 2.6.33.. has CONFIG_DRM_NOUVEAU=m so that should work even
though it's not the latest version.
Yeah, I could compile it myself but that actually
boils down to rolling my own kernel. Leave that for another time.
Best,
Jeremy
