for compiling the driver, install the kernel headers
compile it, install it
load it:
modprobe drivername
(maybe (re-)pluggin in the cam (usb?) will autoload the driver)
check if there is a v4l device
ls -lh /dev/video*
run
gstreamer-properties
to test it
