you hit the keys (MIDI note velocity), so what would be a fine organ
performance sounds really silly because of the different velocities. I
don't see a way to filter out note velocity in rosegarden itself, so I
think I'd like to use an external filter. I could write one easily
enough, but it seems that there might be a generic MIDI filter program
out there somewhere, that can go in the patch bay. Does anyone know of
one?
I might suggest that you consider recording the velocity information but
then not use it. It won't hurt anythign to have it in the MIDI file.
You should be able to very easily modify velocity using the notation
editor if you really want to get rid of it, but possibly the RG
developers just overlooked this feature in the filters page. I filed an
enhancement rrequest that they worked on probably two years ago to build
the current MIDI filter page, but I cannot remember what I asked for and
I cannot find it in the RG bug reporting system. It's probably there
somewhere.
You also might be able to edit MIDI velocities in the event editor also.
My preference would be to record the velocities but then do not transmit
them.
Good luck,
