major qtractor cons;)
- no tempo/key-signature map
- no score/notation editor
- no automation
- no plugin latency/delay compensation
however these are all features that will be addressed in the future
(except score/notation; that won't happen sorry:)
Rosegarden's notation view is one feature of this program that I could not
give up. I have been also a Cakewalk/Sonar user under windows for a long
time, using it's staff view a lot.
In both programs I don't use the notation view as a score desktop publishing
engine, because a real score editor needs many features that these programs
lack. But it may be a very nice representation of MIDI tracks, if you record
the MIDI tracks with a metronome, or create it from scratch. It is not that I
dislike the piano-roll representations, but I feel much more comfortable with
the score for visual inspection of the music. I can locate very quickly where
I've made a mistake without having to press the play button. That's because
I'm very used to scores, of course.
