Understandably. I get your point. and I'm
sure someone has, but as I'm
on the console only, I'd always go for this. I just had the same second
thought: I know how to get it with scripting and I don't have experience
in a lot of players.

Well, it took all of 5 minutes to edit an exisiting tkinter/python
script to get what I want. Just a matter of changing a number of MIDI
refs to MP3 ... I might change this to WAV ... I really don't need to
worry about compression. If anyone wants a copy of the program just
shout. It's about 550 lines of python.
